Wales have been served a monumental blow in their bid to qualify for the 2018 World Cup with news Real Madrid star Gareth Bale will miss their final two qualifiers, reports BBC Sport.
Bale missed Madrid’s 2-0 win over Espanyol on Sunday evening after picking up a calf strain in training and now the 28-year-old has been forced to pull out of the Wales squad for the international break.
Chris Coleman’s side face Georgia on Friday before potentially setting up a colossal final qualifier against Republic of Ireland next week.
Wales were hopeful that Bale would be fit enough to feature during the international break but he was not able to take part in training on Monday and has now been ruled out completely.
After only managing a direct hand in three goals in his opening eight matches for club and country, Bale has scored and assisted four goals in his last five appearances.
