Watford have confirmed they have signed Newcastle United right-back Daryl Janmaat in a deal worth £7.5m.
Newcastle have widely expected to sign Tottenham defender DeAndre Yedlin as his replacement, with Janmaat signing a four-year deal with the Hornets.
“I’m really happy to be here, it’s a new adventure for me. I was really pleased that Watford showed interest in me because I wanted to play in the Premier League,” Janmaat told Watford’s official statement.
“We [Newcastle] lost three times to Watford last season. They had a good season and I hope we can do the same again this year.
“The club is showing great ambitions and wants to improve, and I want to be part of that.”
Only two defenders have registered more assists in the last three Premier League seasons than Janmaat (10).
