Eriksen’s future hinges on whether Real Madrid sign Pogba

Christian Eriksen’s hopes of signing for Real Madrid this summer hinges on the outcome of their pursuit of Paul Pogba, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Eriksen has confirmed he would like a new challenge with only 12 months left to run on his current Tottenham deal.

Madrid have already spent more than £200m on new players this summer and hope to complete their spending spree with a new midfielder.

Zinedine Zidane has earmarked Pogba and Eriksen as his top targets, though there is only room for one of those midfielders.

Madrid are not willing to pay £150m for Pogba, while Tottenham are also playing hardball over Eriksen’s valuation.

Pogba is Zidane’s first choice target this summer and his arrival would throw Eriksen’s future into doubt.

Eriksen’s future hinges on whether Real Madrid sign Pogba

Manchester United have previously been linked with a move for the 27-year-old and could enter the race for his signature if Madrid sign Pogba.

However, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levey will reportedly demand £130m from direct rivals for Eriksen’s signature, while in the region of £80m from foreign sides.

Since August 2015, Eriksen has provided at least five more assists than any other player in the Premier League (50).
