Real Madrid duo tell Bayern Munich striker to join them
Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos told Robert Lewandowski to quit Bayern Munich and join Real Madrid in the summer after their Champions League encounter, reports AS.
Lewandowski has been a long-term target for Madrid over the last few years but any chance of signing the Poland international looked to have gone when he signed a new long-term deal in December that made him the highest paid player in the Bundesliga.
The 28-year-old missed the first leg of Bayern’s Champions League quarter-final first leg clash with Madrid but returned for the trip to Spain and was on the scoresheet in their 4-2 defeat after extra-time.
Lewandowski has been in sublime form for Bayern this season and his arrival at Madrid would add to what is already a formidable forward line featuring Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.
In fact, Lewandowski has scored 39 goals in 41 games in all competitions for Bayern this season.
