Tottenham to muscle in on Chelsea target

Tottenham are prepared to rival Chelsea for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, according to The Daily Star.

Both London sides have been credited with an interest in a new shotstopper this summer with the pair looking to improve between the sticks.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been disappointed by Kepa's performance in a Blues shirt, with the Spaniard dropped for Willy Caballero earlier in the campaign.

Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, has been unhappy with Hugo Lloris' showings in goal for the north London outfit, with the World Cup winner faltering in recent months following his return from injury.

Clarets number one Pope has been excellent for Burnley in the Premier League this season having kept more clean sheets (11) than any other goalkeeper this term.

Burnley are understandably reluctant to lose their star shotstopper, who is pushing for the number one spot for England.

However, they can command a hefty fee for Pope, with both Chelsea and Spurs eager to strengthen in goal this summer.
