Newcastle slap £35m price tag on Sissoko’s head

Borussia Dortmund will have to meet Newcastle United’s staggering £35m valuation if they want to sign the France international this summer, reports The Independent.

Sissoko, 26, has been heavily linked with a move away from Newcastle since the end of last season and the midfielder is keen to leave St. James’ Park after they were relegated from the Premier League last season.

The 26-year-old was France’s best player in the Euro 2016 final defeat to Portugal and his display has seen Newcastle put an extra £10m on his valuation as Rafa Benitez looks to ward off suitors and keep him for their upcoming season in the Championship.

With three years remaining on his existing deal, Newcastle are in no position to sell and hope their staggering demands will put off the likes of Liverpool and Dortmund from firming up their interest in the dynamic midfielder.

Only three players have completed more dribbles in the last three Premier League campaigns than Sissoko (242).
