Borussia Dortmund have announced they have appointed Ajax manager Peter Bosz as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement on a two-year deal until 2019.
The Bundesliga giants sacked Tuchel at the end of last month and had hoped to make Nice manager Lucien Favre his replacement before the former Gladbach head coach pledged his future to the French side.
However, Dortmund have now turned to Ajax head coach Bosz, who fielded the youngest ever line up in a European final when the Dutch lost to Manchester United in the Europa League final last month.
The 53-year-old, who was only made Ajax boss 12 months ago, assembled one of the most exciting young teams in Europe last season and Dortmund will hope he is the man to bring the best out of their own young squad.
Ajax only lost one home match in all competitions under Bosz and Dortmund will now be looking to bridge the gap with Bayern munich after finishing 18 points behind Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
