Paris Saint-Germain owner Nasser Al-Khelafi has revealed they are in talks to extend Laurent Blanc’s contract as manager.
Blanc’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and there had been suggestions he could be replaced by Jose Mourinho after he was sacked by Chelsea on Thursday.
However, the former Manchester United defender looks set to be offered a new three-year deal with PSG already on the cusp of securing the Ligue 1 title for the fourth year in a row.
“He is very happy in Paris, we are very happy with him,” PSG’s owner told le Figaro.
“He wants to stay, we want him to stay, I think that there will be no problem to extend his contract and I am confident that we will find an agreement. We are in discussion."
PSG are currently the only team across Europe’s top five leagues still unbeaten and their 3-0 win away to Caen on Saturday set a new record for points won in the first half of a Ligue 1 campaign (51).
