Manchester City flop ready to fight Ederson for No.1 spot
Manchester City are not interested in selling Claudio Bravo and expect the former Barcelona goalkeeper to challenge summer signing Ederson for the No.1 spot, reports ESPN.
The Chile international, who missed the end of last season through injury, is currently away at the Confederations Cup and is expected to return to pre-season training with City to push Ederson for the No.1 jersey next season.
City spent nearly £15m to sign Bravo from Barcelona last summer but he struggled to adapt to the Premier League and was even dropped for Willy Caballero midway through the season.
Guardiola has already signed Ederson from Benfica in a deal that saw the unproven Brazilian become the second most expensive goalkeeper of all-time after joining for £34.9m.
However, Bravo told Guardiola before departing for the Confederations Cup in Russia that he has every intention of battling Ederson for the No.1 jersey.
In the Premier League last season no goalkeeper had a worst save success rate than Bravo (54.1%).
