Chelsea boss Conte looking to bring striker to Stamford Bridge
Chelsea are considering making a move for Swansea City frontman Fernando Llorente as backup for Diego Costa, reports the Guardian.
Antonio Conte worked with Llorente during their time together at Juventus and the Italian clearly stills rates the striker highly.
The Blues boss is able to call on Michy Batshuayi as backup, but the Belgian’s lack of game time is beginning to impact his development.
As such, the young frontman is being linked with a possible loan move to Swansea in a bid to attain regular first team action for the second half of the season.
That would sweeten any deal for Llorente, who is Swansea’s joint-top goalscorer this season with six goals to his name.
Beyond Llorente, recently-appointed head coach Paul Clement is able to call on Borja Baston and Oliver McBurnie in the final third, so it remains to be seen whether Swansea would sanction the sale of the 31-year-old Spaniard unless a replacement is acquired.
