Crystal Palace reject £70m plus players bid for Zaha

Everton have seen an improved player-plus-cash bid for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha knocked back, claims Sky Sports.

The Toffees are the only Premier League side still interested in signing Zaha this summer but look set to miss out on the Ivory Coast international.

Everton’s latest offer was £70m in addition to the permanent signings of James McCarthy and Cenk Tosun, which made for a proposal in excess of £80m.

However, Palace have turned down Everton’s offer to leave Zaha’s attempts of leaving the Eagles in tatters just over 24 hours until the transfer window for English teams shuts.

Palace have told Zaha he will be allowed to leave the club if they receive a reasonable offer and the 26-year-old is reportedly fuming at being denied the chance to speak to Everton.

Marco Silva’s side are unlikely to return with another offer for Zaha and have reportedly now turned their focus to signing Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi.

Clubs from other European leagues still have a few more weeks to complete their transfer business for the upcoming season, which gives Zaha some glimmer of hope in leaving Palace.

Napoli have been linked with a move for Zaha this summer but are unlikely to match Palace’s eye-watering £100m valuation.

Last season saw Zaha net 10 goals in a single Premier League campaign for the first time in his career, while only Eden Hazard (137) completed more dribbles than the former Manchester United winger (114).
