Ligue 1 champions dominate Team of the Week

Unsurprisingly, after mauling basement club Troyes 9-0 to win the French top-flight for the fourth year in a row, Paris Saint-Germain dominate the Ligue 1 Team of the Week.

Laurent Blanc’s side shattered Lyon’s record for wrapping up the league title in record time, requiring three fewer matches than Gerard Houllier’s men required in 2007.

The Parisien outfit were given the chance to clinch the title after Monaco failed to beat Caen on Friday and they proceeded to do so in devastating fashion, recording their biggest-ever league win.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose future at the club remains unclear, was unsurprisingly right in the thick of the action, scoring four goals to take his tally level with Cristiano Ronaldo (both 27) as the top goalscorers across Europe’s top five leagues.

Not only that, but the iconic swede registered his 11th assist of the league campaign to mean he now requires an astonishing 51 minutes per telling contribution this season, which is by far and away the best in Europe’s top leagues.

The 34-year-old is joined in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week by a quartet of teammates comprised of Edinson Cavani, Adrien Rabiot, Javier Pastore and Layvin Kurzawa. Pastore was the other member to score a perfect 10 WhoScored rating, after he scored one, set up another and completed an astonishing seven dribbles, which was at least two more than any other player on the pitch.
