New Inter boss eyes raid of former club Lazio

New Inter manager Stefano Pioli is already casting his eye on the transfer window and wants to sign Lucas Biglia from former club Lazio, according to Tuttosport, via Football Italia.

Pioli, 51, was named Frank de Boer’s replacement earlier this week having been out of work since April after being sacked by Lazio following a 4-1 defeat to fiercest rivals Roma.

The Italian has only been in charge of Inter a matter of days but reportedly already wants to bring in Lazio captain Biglia to help shape the current squad to his liking.

Biglia, 30, has entered the final two years of his existing deal with Lazio and has already missed much of the season with a calf injury, limiting the central midfielder to just five league starts.

Of active players to have started at least 50 Serie A matches over the last four campaigns, only Allan (1 every 21 mins) completes a tackle more frequently than Biglia (23.9 mins).
