Bastian Schweinsteiger has served Manchester United a blow in their pursuit of the midfielder after hinting that he could remain at Bayern Munich next season.
Schweinsteiger, 30, has become a stalwart of German football ever since breaking through the ranks at the Allianz Arena as an 18-year-old, but his future appeared to be away from the Bundesliga champions this summer.
Schweinsteiger would certainly provide composure and style to United's midfield, with only Phillip Lahm playing more accurate passes in the last six Bundesliga seasons (9954).
However, speaking to German broadcaster Sport1, that may not be the case anymore, as he targets another German title with Bayern, stating “We’ve won the Bundesliga for three consecutive times, no team ever has managed to win it four times. That’s a motivation.”
