Liverpool not interested in signing Keita’s RB Leipzig team-mate
Liverpool will not sign another striker in the summer and have no interest in RB Leipzig star Timo Werner, claims the Liverpool Echo.
Werner has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League and there were suggestions that Jurgen Klopp would move for the Germany international.
Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita will complete his transfer to Liverpool at the end of the season but Klopp won’t look to make a second raid on the club.
Klopp is content with his options in attack and will instead look to accelerate 17-year-old Rhian Brewster into the first-team.
The teenage sensation finished last summer's Under-17 World Cup as the top scorer, netting his eighth goal of the competition in the final as England beat Spain 5-2.
Brewster has undergone operations on both ankles and his knee since being ruled out for the rest of the season in January but is expected back in the summer.
Werner has scored 18 goals in 37 matches across all competitions this season, including six in 10 European appearances.
