Real Madrid are set to beat a number of European rivals to land Inter midfielder Mateo Kovacic in a deal worth up to €35m (£24.8m), according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The deal is thought to be at an advanced stage and is expected to go through without any problems.
Kovacic, 21, is highly regarded in Europe and has already shown flashes of his potential since joining Inter from Dinamo Zagreb in 2013.
In fact, the Croatia international played at least two more accurate through balls (11) than any other player in Serie A last season.
