Manchester United eye summer move for Championship ace

Manchester United will step up their interest in Norwich centre-back Ben Godfrey with a £10m bid in the summer, claims The Sun.

Godfrey has been in immense form for Norwich this season and is playing a key part in the club’s push for automatic promotion from the Championship.

The 21-year-old is now being linked with a move to the Premier League whether Norwich are promoted or not and United have already sent scouts to watch the England Under-20 international.

United are on the market for a new centre-back and believe Godfrey has what it takes to play for the club.

Godfrey’s current Norwich deal is not due to expire until the summer of 2022 but it is believed an offer of just £10m would be enough to sign the youngster.

The Norwich centre-back is comfortable on the ball and that is illustrated by the fact he has the best pass success rate at the club this season (88.5%).

In fact, only Tottenham loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers (91.9%) has a better pass success rate than Godfrey of all players in the Championship this term.
