Juventus have announced they have completed a deal to sign Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa on a season-long deal with an option to make the deal permanent next summer.
The Brazil international underwent his Juventus medical on Wednesday after Max Allegri’s side made a significant breakthrough in transfer talks with their German counterparts earlier in the week.
Juventus have agreed to pay Bayern a €6m (£5.3m) loan fee for next season and then must decide whether to make the switch permanent by June 30, 2018, where they will pay a further €40m (£35.4m).
The 26-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements by Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern last season and the writing was on the wall as soon as the Bundesliga champions signed Serge Gnabry earlier this summer. The arrival of James Rodriguez on Tuesday only compounded things.
Despite only starting 14 league matches last season, Costa has still completed at least 20 more dribbles than any other player in the last two Bundesliga campaigns (148).
