Napoli look set to beat off competition from Premier League side Manchester United to sign Bordeaux youngster Adam Ounas, reports La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

On the back of an impressive breakthrough campaign, Ounas followed that up win a notable 2016/17, with his Ligue 1 form attracting interest from Premier League giants United.

Manager Jose Mourinho was keen to take him to Old Trafford last summer and was expected to firm up his interest in the 20-year-old this year.

However, United look to have missed out on Ounas, with Napoli parting ways with €10m to sign the young attacker.

Ounas, who has been dubbed the next Eden Hazard in Italian media, scored three goals and registered a further two assists to help Bordeaux finish sixth in France’s top tier last term.
