Manchester United ready £60m bid for Chelsea target

Manchester United will rekindle their interest in Lyon striker Moussa Dembele at the end of the season with a £60m bid, claims The Sun.

Dembele was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League last month but Lyon refused to do business with Chelsea.

The former Fulham striker has developed into one of the best goalscorers in Ligue 1 this season and appears set to leave Lyon in the summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a new striker at the end of the season after missing out on Erling Haaland to Borussia Dortmund last month.

United ended up getting ex-Watford man Odion Ighalo on loan for the remainder of the season but intend to make a major addition in the summer.

Solskjaer wants competition for Anthony Martial in attack and United's scouts have been thoroughly impressed with Dembele's development this season.

The 23-year-old is valued at £60m and is now high on the list of United's transfer targets for the summer.

Dembele has scored 16 goals in 27 league appearances for Lyon this season, already surpassing his total from 2018/19 (15 in 33).

Moreover, only Kylian Mbappe and Wissam Ben Yedder (both 18) have scored more goals than Dembele in Ligue 1 this season.
