Tottenham have informed Mauricio Pochettino they intend to offer him a new contract at the end of the season, according to ESPN.
Pochettino still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal at White Hart Lane but Spurs are understandably keen to extend his stay to ward off potential admirers in the summer.
The Argentine has made incredible strides in transforming Spurs into unlikely title challengers this season and his work has reportedly caught the eye of Chelsea and Manchester United, who are both likely to make managerial changes at the end of the season.
Spurs not only have the best defensive record in the Premier League (24), but only two teams have scored more goals in England’s top-flight than Pochettino’s side (51).
