AC Milan ponder stunning £80m January bid for Premier League superstar

AC Milan are weighing up a stunning £80m January bid for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, claims The Sun.

The Serie A giants would have moved for Aguero over the summer but City failed to get a deal for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez over the line.

City even agreed a £60m deal with Arsenal but the transfer collapsed after the Gunners failed to secure a replacement for the Chile international in time.

Vincenzo Montella’s side were forced to shelve their interest but are ready to step up their pursuit of Aguero in January if City can prise Sanchez away from the Emirates.

Aguero is currently one goal shy from equalling Erick Brook’s record as City’s all-time leading goalscorer but is currently sidelined for the foreseeable future after breaking his ribs in a car accident before the international break.

The 29-year-old already holds the record as the highest scoring non-European player in Premier League history, with 128 goals from 187 appearances.
