Milan Skriniar’s impressive start to the season has caught the attention of Atletico Madrid and the La Liga giants will continue to monitor the Inter defender, reports Calciomercato, via AS.
The Slovakia international only joined Inter over the summer but the former Sampdoria defender is already being linked with a move away at the end of the season.
While Leonardo Bonucci’s move to AC Milan made all the noise, it is Skriniar’s start to the season that has caught all the attention in San Siro and now Diego Simeone is interested in bringing the 22-year-old to Spain.
Jose Gimenez’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, which could leave Atletico with a sizeable hole to fill in their defence in the summer.
Having only just signed Skriniar, Inter are in no position where they need to sell the centre-back and it would likely require an enormous fee to make them consider his departure.
Skriniar’s start to the season has been so impressive that the Inter defender is currently in the WhoScored Team of the Season in Serie A (7.28 rating).
