Liverpool to rival Barcelona for £18m left-back
Liverpool are ready to launch a bid for German full-back Philipp Max, according to The Express.
The Reds are keen to bolster their options in defence and provide competition to Andrew Robertson following the expiration of Alberto Moreno’s contract.
While James Milner has filled in in that position in the past the European champions are keen to sign a more natural left-back, with the Englishman’s age also coming into consideration.
Augsburg star Max has emerged as a target for the Merseysiders as a consequence having also been linked to Barcelona in the current transfer window.
The Spanish champions are reportedly ready to firm up their interest in a bid to force through a transfer this week, so Liverpool would need to act fast to sign the defender, who is valued at £18m.
