Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Danilo and now just need to make a breakthrough in talks with Real Madrid to land the right-back, reports Brazilian outlet Globoesporte.
Danilo has been earmarked as a potential signing by the Premier League champions as Antonio Conte seeks competition for Victor Moses at right wing-back.
The 26-year-old is free to leave Zinedine Zidane’s side this summer after failing to establish himself as a first-team regular in the last two years, but no club has been willing to match Madrid’s €30m (£26m) valuation.
Juventus were in talks with the European champions before they filled their final non-EU spot with Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa and now Chelsea are the clear front runners for his signature after agreeing personal terms with the right-back.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is also believed to be monitoring Danilo’s future in the Spanish capital after missing out on the chance to reunite with former Barcelona defender Dani Alves this summer.
Only Casemiro (5.7) averaged more tackles and interceptions combined of all Madrid players in La Liga last season than Danilo (5.35).
