Paris Saint-Germain’s new sporting director Patrick Kluivert has held preliminary talks with Robin Van Persie about a sensational switch to the Ligue 1 champions, reports L’Equipe 21, via Get French Football.
Van Persie, 31, has been transfer listed by Turkish giants Fenerbahce after just 12 months at the club following his move from Manchester United.
The Netherlands international has been offered to a number of Premier League clubs this summer but none have been prepared to match his wage demands.
However, PSG are weighing up a move for the Dutch striker as they look to find a reserve striker to Edinson Cavani.
Only Mario Gomez scored more frequently than Van Persie (1 goal every 114.5 mins) in the Turkish Super Lig last season (min 10 goals).
