Leicester have announced the arrival of Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet on a 5-year deal running until the summer of 2024.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have fended off competition for Praet’s signature from Spanish side Valencia after agreeing a reported €20m (£18.4m) deal with Sampdoria.
Despite being able to offer Praet the chance of play in the Champions League next season, Leicester have won the race for the Belgium international.
The 25-year-old joins fellow countryman Youri Tielemans in completing a permanent move to Leicester and is their fourth addition in total this summer.
Leicester have also signed Ayoze Perez from Newcastle and Luton right-back James Justin, though Rodgers is yet to find a replacement for Harry Maguire.
Praet was a first-team regular for Sampdoria over the last two campaigns, starting 64 league matches out of a possible 76.
He played a direct hand in nine league goals (three goals, six assists) and made more tackles than any other Sampdoria player in Serie A (148) in that time.
