Monaco midfielder Joao Moutinho has put Premier League suitors on alert after reiterating his desire to play in England.
Moutinho, 30, has spent the last four years with Monaco after joining from Porto with James Rodriguez in a deal worth a combined £60m.
The Portugal international has less than two years remaining on his existing deal with Monaco and remains happy at the club for the moment, although his future remains less clear-cut.
“I have always said I would like to play in the English league,” Moutinho told Le Parisien, via Get French Football. “But for the moment I am happy at Monaco."
Monaco are currently enjoying a fantastic season and are only one point behind surprise Ligue 1 leaders Nice after 14 matches. They have scored more goals than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues this season (43).
Moutinho has started in half of their league matches and has played a direct hand in three of Monaco’s goals (one goal, two assists).
