Diego Simeone has hinted that Atletico Madrid could find it difficult to retain the services of Antoine Griezmann.
The Frenchman has put in some stunning performances for the Spanish side this season, with his 12 goals and two assists contributing to a WhoScored rating of 7.63 in La Liga.
His form has attracted interest from a number of top teams on the continent, who would profit from the addition of a player of Griezmann's quality.
Simeone has now suggested that Atletico could struggle to retain his services, depsite the club set to undergo a transfer ban.
"The sporting directors have been speaking to him directly, with those close to him, in order to work out what's best for him and the club," the Argentine said.
"Of course he's a very important player to us, but we can't hold him here with chains."
Griezmann, 24, is currently contracted to the Calderon until 2020.
