Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has revealed the chance to play under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City was almost to hard to resist this summer.
Bonucci, 29, was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer after his dazzling performances with Italy at Euro 2016.
However, the Juventus defender resisted all temptations to leave the club of his heart, but has revealed he did consider City’s offer.
“If I said I wasn’t tempted I would be a hypocrite,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport, via TalkSPORT. “I have always said that Juventus is my home and I am happy with the choice I made, but this summer there was a small temptation, especially for the coach [Guardiola] who wanted me.
“But then at some point I stopped [being tempted] because my childhood dream was to win with Juventus.”
In the last eight Serie A campaigns no defender has completed more accurate long balls than Bonucci (1409).
