Emiliano Martinez has put pen to paper on a new deal with Aston Villa until 2027, the club has announced.
The Argentine has been first choice at Villa Park following his arrival from Arsenal in 2020, also establishing himself as Argentina number one in the process.
And Martinez has been rewarded for his excellent performances between the sticks with a new contract.
"Aston Villa is pleased to announce that Emiliano Martínez has signed a contract extension until 2027," the club said on their official website.
"Martínez has been first-choice goalkeeper since joining the club from Arsenal ahead of the 2020/21 season.
"In his maiden campaign at Villa Park, Martínez excelled between the posts and was part of a defensive unit that equalled the club’s Premier League record of 15 clean sheets in a season.
"He would go on to star for his native Argentina as they won the Copa América in the summer of 2021."
