Real Madrid are ready to firm up their long-standing interest in Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea with a record £60m bid this summer, reports The Sun.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have rekindled their interest in De Gea after missing out on his signature two years ago and are determined to land him this summer following Keylor Navas’ horror show between the sticks this season.
De Gea was keen to return to Spain and join Madrid in 2015 and it remains to be seen if his motives have changed despite the fact he signed a long-term deal shortly after his move to the Spanish giants collapsed.
United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly grown unhappy with De Gea since the last international break and has even favoured Sergio Romero in recent matches, although the Premier League giants do not want to lose their No.1 goalkeeper to Madrid.
Only Hugo Lloris and Thibaut Courtois (both 13) have kept more clean sheets in the Premier League than De Gea (12) this season, who was voted in the PFA Team of the Year for the third season in a row.
