Marseille have submitted a new €30m (£26m) bid for West Ham’s wantaway star Dimitri Payet, reports L’Equipe, via Get French Football.
Payet, 29, has told West Ham he wants to leave the club this month and return to Marseille for personal reasons less than two years after leaving the Ligue 1 outfit for the Hammers.
West Ham have already rejected two offers from Marseille and have told Payet they are under no financial pressure to sell and will only accept an offer if their €35m (£30m) valuation is met.
Marseille are determined to land Payet despite the fact negotiations have not been plain sailing and hope they will have more success with their latest bid as they edge closer to West Ham’s price tag.
Despite enduring a difficult season for West Ham, Payet has still registered more key passes than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues (74).
