Manchester United delay pursuit of Sampdoria youngster
Manchester United are willing to wait until the end of the season to firm up their interest in Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen, claims the Manchester Evening News.
The Premier League giants have scouted Andersen on more than one occasion this season and are interested in signing the 22-year-old Denmark Under-21 international.
United have made signing a new centre-back a top priority over the next two transfer windows but are willing to be patient in their pursuit of Andersen despite the fact Tottenham and Inter are also interested.
The Red Devils are still unsure who their next full-time manager will be and will not make any drastic decisions in this month’s transfer window as a result.
Tottenham manager Pochettino is the front-runner to replace interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the summer and the fact the Argentine is also keen on Andersen will sit well with United.
Andersen, however, is not the only centre-back United are interested in but any decision on their top transfer target will likely be made at the end of the season.
Of players aged 23 and under in Serie A this season, Andersen has made the most passes (1159), three more than another United target, Milan Skriniar.
