Chelsea star Eden Hazard has given a boost to incoming manager Antonio Conte after informing the Italy national team coach he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge, according to ESPN.
Hazard, 25, has been subject to intense transfer speculation throughout the second half of the season with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid among those monitoring his situation in London.
The Belgium international, who was voted PFA Player of the Year last season, has struggled for form and fitness this season and convincing him to stay, as well as Diego Costa, have been billed as Conte’s biggest tasks when he replaces Guus Hiddink after the Euros in the summer.
However, Conte, who spoke to several Chelsea players when he visited the club’s training ground earlier this month, had a meeting with Hazard and people close to the winger are convinced he is happy with his situation and wants to help rebuild Chelsea next season.
Hazard hasn’t scored in the Premier League since last season and is currently on a run of 2,102 minutes without a league goal.
