Manchester City ready world-record bid for Real Madrid and Barcelona target

 

Manchester City are gearing up to make a world-record bid for PSG star and World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe, reports the Sun on Sunday. 

 

City boss Pep Guardiola is a keen admirer of the teenage sensation and had looked to lure Mbappe to the Etihad Stadium following his appointment, only for Monaco to rebuff their efforts to sign the youngster. 

 

Now, Mbappe is widely considered to be one of the best players in football, despite his age, with the forward excelling for PSG this term after impressing at the 2018 World Cup. 

 

Indeed, with four goals and three assists to his name, the 19-year-old has gained a WhoScored rating of 7.97 in Ligue 1 this season, that the sixth best return in Europe’s top five leagues.

And now City are supposedly gearing up to bid in excess of £200m for Mbappe, which would eclipse PSG’s £198m capture of Neymar last summer. 

 

The French side are under investigation by UEFA for breach of FFP regulations and that could see them forced to sell one of their prized assets. 

 

City, though, wouldn’t be the only side to move for Mbappe should he become available, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also keen admirers of the France star.
