PSG rising star ruled out for a month

Paris Saint-Germain have been served a huge blow after it was confirmed Adrien Rabiot will be sidelined for a month through injury, according to Goal.com.

Rabiot has been in superb form since establishing himself as a first-team regular under Unai Emery this season but was forced off in the dying embers of his debut for the France senior side during the international break with a hamstring injury.

The 21-year-old was named alongside N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba in France’s midfield in their 0-0 draw with the Ivory Coast on Tuesday but was forced off with minutes remaining in the match.

PSG play Arsenal away from home in a pivotal Champions League group match next week, in which the winner is likely to finish as group winners, and Rabiot has already confirmed he will miss the trip.

“I think my goose is cooked as far as Arsenal is concerned,” Rabiot told Ligue 1’s official website a day after Tuesday’s match. “I came off because I felt a twinge in one of my legs. I really couldn’t continue. Apparently it’s a tear. But I don’t want to say too much. I don’t know exactly.”

It has since been revealed that former Manchester City midfielder will be sidelined for the next four weeks, which will also mean PSG will be without their star man for their top of the table clash against Nice next month.

Despite the fact Cavani has scored 11 league goals this season, Rabiot is the highest rated player in Ligue 1 for PSG (7.49 rating).
