Borussia Dortmund eye Premier League boss

Borussia Dortmund are considering a move to bring Huddersfield manager David Wagner back to the club this summer, claims The Daily Mirror.

Wagner spent four years in charge of Dortmund’s second team while Jurgen Klopp was at the club before leaving to become Huddersfield boss in 2015.

The 46-year-old has built an impressive reputation since arriving in England and now his former club could even make a play for him in the summer.

Dortmund appointed Peter Stoger in December on a deal until the end of the season and it’s unlikely he will be given the job on a full-term basis.

The German outfit are currently battling to finish in the top-four in the Bundesliga and are on course to crash out of Europa after losing 2-1 at home to Salzburg in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 clash.

Huddersfield are currently four points above the bottom three in the Premier League with eight games remaining of the season.

Dortmund are not the only team that will be interested in Wagner’s services should he become available, but the pulling power of his former club may given them the edge.

Since becoming Huddersfield manager in November 2015, Wagner has a win ratio of 41% in charge of the Terriers.
