Argentina international Lionel Messi is reportedly ready to leave Barcelona after growing frustrated by his recent tax troubles, according to the Daily Mirror.
Messi, 28, is currently facing trial over an alleged £3.1m tax fraud with his father Jorge and is alleged to be open to a move to the Premier League to test himself in a new environment.
According to the Mirror, three Premier League teams have already made contact with Messi’s representatives. The four-time World Player of the Year still has three years to run on his current Barcelona deal, which includes a €250m release clause.
Messi is currently out of action injured with a knee ligament injury with Barcelona refusing to put a timescale on his return.
The Argentina forward is currently the highest rated WhoScored player in Europe’s top five leagues (8.44) having played a direct hand in five league goals from his six appearances thus far.
