Juventus reject Paris Saint-Germain advance for Sandro

Juventus have categorically ruled out Alex Sandro’s departure before Friday’s deadline following another approach from Paris Saint-Germain, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.

Sandro has been heavily linked with a move away from Juventus in the last 12 months and has been courted by Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United in the past.

United were expected to ramp up their interest in the Brazilian at the start of the summer but Jose Mourinho instead opted to cool the club’s interest, paving the way for PSG to have a clear run at his signature.

New head coach Thomas Tuchel wants to overhaul PSG’s current left-back options but the Ligue 1 giants, who have until the end of August to sign players, appear to have left it too late to prise Sandro away from Juventus.

The Old Lady have already sold Kwadwo Asamoah this summer and losing Sandro with just a few days remaining in the transfer window would leave them with little time to sufficiently replace the 27-year-old.

There were suggestions following Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival from Real Madrid that the Serie A giants would also try and prise Marcelo away from the European champions but nothing has materialised on that front.

Sandro has emerged as one of the best attacking full-backs in Serie A since joining Juventus from Porto in 2015. Furthermore, only Paul Dybala (7.62) has a higher WhoScored rating than Sandro (7.55) for Juventus in the last two Serie A seasons.
