Atletico Madrid are closing in on the signing of Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez for a deal worth up to €95m, reports the Athletic.
Rumours began to circulate last month that the Argentine is keen on a summer move away from the Etihad Stadium despite his role in their Premier League title success.
Alvarez started 31 of 38 league matches, scoring 11 and providing nine assists but he failed to nail down a spot in the City squad with every player fit.
As such, the 24-year-old is now set for a big money move to Atletico as they look to replace the outgoing Alvaro Morata and Memphis Depay. Samu Omorodion has also been linked with a move to Chelsea this summer.
Atletico have been active in the market in the off-season, bringing in Alexander Sorloth and Robin Le Normand from Villarreal and Real Sociedad, respectively.
