Southampton have set their sights on Manchester City outcast Joe Hart amid fears Fraser Forster will follow former boss Ronald Koeman to Everton int he summer, reports The Sun.
Hart, 29, has spent the season on loan at Serie A side Torino after dropping down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola but his future beyond the end of the season remains unclear.
The England international has already confirmed he is surplus to requirements at City and expects to be sold in the summer rather than return to the Etihad despite their current woes between the sticks.
Torino have already confirmed they’d like to retain Hart’s services but it may prove a deal out of their financial reach, with a return to England more likely for the goalkeeper.
Southampton have no interest in losing Forster but are planning for life without the England international and will look to move for his international teammate Hart if Everton are successful in their attempts to sign him.
Only two players have committed more errors that have directly led to an opposition shot on goal in Serie A this season than Hart (4).
