West Ham are now the frontrunners to sign Burnley striker Andre Gray, reports the London Evening Standard.
Gray has entered the final 12 months of his existing deal with the Clarets and has been heavily linked with a move away from Turf Moor in a £15m deal.
Burnley are unwilling to match Gray’s reported £70,000-a-week wages and that has put the likes of Everton and West Ham on red alert as they look to bolster their offensive options.
West Ham are determined to add more pace to their attack and will try to land a striker that can deliver the team regular goals for the second summer in succession.
The Toffees are also interested in the 26-year-old as Ronald Koeman's side look to continue their summer spending spree, but Everton are reportedly focusing their attentions on luring Olivier Giroud away from Arsenal.
Only Zlatan Ibrahimovic (37), Jermain Defoe, Christian Benteke and Romelu Lukaku (all 35) were flagged offsides more times in the Premier League last season than Gray (35).
