Premier League trio on alert as Asensio asking price is revealed

According to Spanish newspaper Marca (via The Mirror), Real Madrid are open to selling playmaker Marco Asensio provided a club can meet his asking price.

The 22-year-old was tipped to be key to the European champions new look set up following the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo but a poor start to the season under Julen Lopetegui has meant that a number of players could yet be allowed to leave.

The Spain international has been a regular feature in the starting XI for Los Blancos this season but in 11 appearances for the club he has found the net just once so far.

An underwhelming start to the campaign won’t have perturbed the youngster’s potential suitors, however, with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all thought to be keeping tabs on his situation.

It’s one that may have become a little clearer following reports that Real Madrid value their player at around £100m, which is likely to be a fee that many clubs would consider matching.

Asensio may not have been in red hot form for his club but for the national side he has scored once and registered four assists in two UEFA Nations League starts this season.
