Toure has no retirement plans

Kolo Toure has no intentions of retiring and wants to keep playing beyond the end of this season for Liverpool.

The Liverpool defender’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and he will turn 35 in March.

Toure has been a bit part player at Anfield since arriving from Manchester City in 2013, but isn’t looking to end his career just yet.

“I want to carry on playing football. I love it, I feel fresh and I’m still working hard,” Toure told the Liverpool Echo.

“I can go on for another four or five years! I take it year by year but as long as I feel fit, and the fans and the club are happy with me I’ll be here.

“I’ll be here for as long as the club think I can help. I want to do good things for Liverpool.”

Toure has no retirement plans

Toure has spent the last three campaigns as a back up to the likes of Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho and has only played 1 minute of football in the Premier League this season.
