Chelsea are ready to move for Argentina international Ezequiel Garay if they fail to land John Stones before the transfer window closes, according to Sky Italia.
Chelsea have already had three bids rejected for Stones and have been believed to be preparing a fourth that would seem them make the 21-year-old the most expensive defender in British football.
However, according to reports, the Premier League champions are reportedly already in discussions with Zenit Saint Petersburg for the defenders services, but are yet to reach an agreement.
Garay, who has regularly been linked with a move to Manchester United, was a part of the Argentina squad that finished the World Cup as losing finalists to Germany last summer.
In fact, of players to have attempted more than 300 passes at the World Cup, no player had a higher pass success rate than Garay (94%).
