RB Leipzig midfielder Diego Demme is in Italy to finalise a €12m (£10.2m) move to Napoli, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Serie A giants have made signing a new central midfielder a priority this month and Demme is at the top of their wanted list.
The 28-year-old has spent more than five years at Leipzig after joining from German side Paderborn in 2014.
The one-cap Germany international has featured in every league game for Leipzig this season and Julian Nagelsmann has reluctantly accepted his departure.
Leipzig are currently top of the Bundesliga and into the knockout stage of the Champions League and Nagelsmann would have been desperate to keep his entire squad together this month.
Since August 2015, only Wendell (352) and Daniel Caligiuri (327) have made more tackles than Demme (301) in the Bundesliga.
