Arsenal star digging heels in over looming exit

Mesut Ozil has no interest in leaving Arsenal on loan at the end of the season despite falling out of favour under Unai Emery, claims The Daily Mail.

The former Germany international only signed a new £350,000-a-week contract in January 2017 and Arsenal are desperate to offload his massive wages.

Arsenal are in financial turmoil after a number of big investments over the last 12 months and Ozil is ready to frustrate the north London outfit further.

The Gunners are resigned to the fact they are unlikely to be able to command a fee for Ozil at the end of the season but are hopeful of loaning him out.

Ozil, however, has no desire to leave Arsenal on loan and even rejected the chance to join Paris Saint-Germain last month on a deal until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old has no future at the club under Unai Emery and has only made 14 Premier League appearances this season.

Ozil has featured in just two of Arsenal’s nine matches in all competitions in 2019 and was left out of the squad for Thursday’s shock 1-0 defeat away to BATE in the Europa League.

Arsenal have a marginally better win ratio in the Premier League this season when Ozil has not started (61.5%) compared to when he has featured from the off (53.8%).
