Paris Saint-Germain plot shock summer move for Newcastle defender
Paris Saint-Germain are keeping tabs on Danny Rose's loan stint at Newcastle with an eye to making a shock summer move, claims The Sun.
Rose secured a six-month loan move to Newcastle in January after dropping completely out of favour under Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho.
The former England international has previously been linked with big money moves to the likes of Manchester United but his stock has diminished considerably in the last few years.
Rose will only have 12 months left to run on his current Tottenham deal at the end of the season and Mourinho's side will look to offload him permanently.
It has now emerged PSG are considering a shock move for the 29-year-old at the end of the season, with Layvin Kurzawa expected to leave the Ligue 1 leaders in the summer.
Thomas Tuchel's side will keep close tabs on Rose's displays for Newcastle from now until the end of the season before making their decision on a move.
Rose made his Newcastle debut in the final 11 minutes of their 0-0 draw with Norwich before the winter break but is expected to be a key player for Steve Bruce's side.
Newcastle lost both Paul Dummett and Jetro Willems to season-ending injuries prior to Rose's arrival and he will more than likely become their starting left-back.
Prior to joining the Magpies, Rose made just 12 league appearances for Tottenham and started once in the competition under Mourinho.
