AC Milan sign Inter target Rebic

AC Milan have confirmed the arrival of Frankfurt forward Ante Rebic with Andre Silva moving in the opposite direction.

Rebic has joined Milan on a two-year loan deal with an option to make the switch permanent for a €25m (£22.7m) fee.

Milan have been on the market for a new attacker all summer and have turned to Rebic after failing to agree a fee with Atletico Madrid for Angel Correa.

Rebic was heavily linked with a move to Inter earlier in the summer but Antonio Conte’s side landed first choice targets Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United.

Milan have sent out of favour striker Silva to Frankfurt in return and the Portugal international will also spend the next two years on loan at Frankfurt with an option to buy.

The Bundesliga outfit have now been completely gutted of their attack from last season following the departures of Luka Jovic and Sebastien Haller earlier in the summer.

Rebic, who was previously contracted to Fiorentina for five years, has been at Frankfurt since the summer of 2016. The 25-year-old played a direct hand in 25 goals in 49 league appearances for Frankfurt (17 goals, eight assists).
